Liverpool International Jazz Festival

Liverpool International Jazz Festival (LIJF) was established in 2013 by Liverpool Hope University, and in previous years has included performances from some of Jazz music’s leading lights.

The emphasis of the Festival is on contemporary instrumental jazz in a variety of styles with a focus on presenting work from an international selection of world class artists, taking audience members on a musical journey that traverses numerous genres and cross-genres.

The most recent incarnation of LIJF 2025 took place from Thurs 20^th – Sun 23rd February 2025 mainly at Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus. The Festival was in its twelfth incarnation and included concerts by Darius Brubeck Quartet, Arbenz / Neame / Hart / Churchill/ Doran / Pursglove "Conversation”, Rekesh Chauhan & Kousic Sen, Neil Cowley Trio, Dorian Ford and Emma Rawicz.

This year, National Lottery Funding from Arts Council England supported a series of three free admission concerts by local artists, The Weave, The Return of Samjoko and Sweet Beans, alongside free concert tickets for musicians and a range of creative sessions (workshops) accessible to all delivered by musicians who performed as part of the festival.
