EspĂritu Flamenco presents: Emuná
Saturday, 15 March 2025 Time: 7.30pmIn a series of fleeting scenes, featuring flamenco styles such as the Soleá, Farruca and the Nana, Emuná sets out to show how faith enables us to overcome and learn from the challenges of life. The international flamenco dancer from Granada brings her team of talented musicians to North-West England once again, to showcase her latest production.
Another opportunity to experience exclusive flamenco artists first hand, carefully curated by Sarah Chambers of Espíritu Flamenco. Cristina Aguilera presents her latest work, as artistic director, choreographer and dancer, created with the flamenco cante (traditional songs) of Miguel Lavi and the music of guitarist and composer David Caro.

Cristina Aguilera – Dancer (Bailaora)
Cristina was born in Granada, dancing in her first Flamenco show with her teacher at the tender age of eight. She continued to study Flamenco under Maite Galan and finished her Spanish Dance & Flamenco studies at the Carmen Amya Conservatory in Madrid. Since then, she has performed and delivered workshops at festivals and events all over the world, including the XX Festival de Jerez and the Festival of Jazz & World Music in Brno. She has now established herself as one of the leading proponents of the dance form.
In 2015 she presented her first production, Encrucijada. In 2021 she premiered a new show Germen, together with dancer Carmen Muñoz. Corazón Abierto was her second solo production, performed at the Seville Bienal, followed by De Agua, Plata y Tierra presented at the Festival de Jerez, Tarab and Emuná. Over her career to date, she has worked alongside many other renowned Flamenco artists, including Fuensanta La Moneta, Eva Yerbabuena, Farruquito, Jesus Carmona, Marina Heredia, El Pele, Kiki Morente, Farruquito, Miguel Poveda and José Valencia, as well as Migel Lavi and David Caro.
David Caro – Music Director/Guitarist
Based in Almeria, in Andalucia, David Caro is highly regarded for his lyrical composition and variety of musical expression. A soloist and teacher in his own right, David is in constant demand to work with other highly regarded flamenco artists all over Spain on account of the beauty and brilliance of his musicality.
Miguel Lavi – singer (Cantaor)
Hailing from Jerez in Andalucia from a dynasty of great flamenco singers, Miguel is a favourite at Flamenco festivals all over the world. He is known for his passionate and rhythmic approach.
